Career History
Joyce worked as a director in the investigation and compliance department of the independent regulator of the accounting profession in Hong Kong (“Financial Regulator”) from January 2008 till February 2024. Prior to the further reform of the Financial Regulator in 2019, Joyce investigated possible auditing irregularities of auditors of listed entities in Hong Kong; and enquired into possible non-compliance with regulatory requirements for financial reports of listed entities in Hong Kong.
The further reform of the Financial Regulator extends her work to investigate possible misconduct committed by certified public accountants registered with the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“HKICPA”), registered responsible persons of a registered public interest entity (“PIE”) auditor, and non-PIE auditors.
Over her 16 years’ tenure with the Financial Regulator, Joyce’s responsibilities
